“We’re Still Here”
October is the Polio Awareness Month, and at Spinal Life Australia, we are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of polio survivors and raising awareness about the difficulties they face, especially later in life.
Polio is a highly infectious disease caused by a virus. It invades the nervous system and can cause total paralysis in a matter of hours. While polio may have eradicated from many parts of the world, its impact continues to affect people, especially those with late effects of polio or post-polio syndrome.
Spinal Life Australia is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for polio survivors and offers unwavering support and a caring community for those navigating the post-polio journey. This Month we present remarkable stories of polio survivors who have triumphed over adversity.
